February 25 at the National Historical Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar" a monument to poetess Olena Teliga - the member of the Ukrainian liberation movement - was opened. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of government, the clergy, the KCSA, community leaders, school and university students., the clergy, the KSCA, community leaders, school and university students. "Today we commemorate the memory and unveil the monument to the social and political activist, the member of the Ukrainian liberation movement, poetess Olena Teliga. And we honour her face all Ukrainian patriots who fought and gave their lives for an independent Ukraine " - the Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klichko emphasised, opening the monument. Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kiev Patriarchate Filaret during the sanctification of a monument to Olena Teliga emphasised that with this event the Ukrainian nation honours the memory of the fighters who gave their lives for the independence of the Ukrainian state. In his speech, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko said that the monument to poetess and OUN activist Olena Teliga at Babyn Yar debunks myths about Russia's role and place of Ukrainian patriots, especially OUN during World War II. Deputy Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine Rostislav Pavlenko emphasised that the opening of this monument is a landmark event - the return of historical memory. Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nyschuk, in turn, stressed during his speech that the opening of the monument to Olena Teliga is a recognition of her significant contribution to defending the Ukrainian statehood, true patriotism, and her creative contribution to the national cultural treasure. The authors of the monument are Alexander Ruban Viktor Lypovka and Ivan Yershov.
