25.01.2013. , at 14.00, at the National Literature Museum of Ukraine, B.Khmelnytsky str., № 11, the National Historical Memorial Reserve "Babi Yar" together with the Jewish Council of Ukraine held a press conference dedicated to International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
The conference оpened by President of the Council of National Societies of Ukraine, Head of the " Babi Yar Memorial " Fund I.M.Levitas. International Holocaust Remembrance Day is commemorated worldwide on January 27. This day in 1945, the advancing Soviet Army entered the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp complex, liberating more than 7000 prisoners, who were for the most part ill or dying. International Holocaust Remembrance Day was established in the year 2005 a special UN resolution. Through the horrors of the ghettos and the Nazi death camps were many men, women and children. We always must remember the victims of Nazism and heroes - representatives of the Jewish people, who died in battles for the victory ,in the guerrilla groups, in the underground, and all that people who were risked their own lives and the lives of their families to save the doomed to death Jews .
Then the President of the International Organization "Ukraine-Israel" L.P.Skoryk and director of the National Historical Reserve memoryal "Babi Yar" B.I.Glazunov delivered a speech.
