Presentation of the Concept of complex memorialization of Babyn Yar

On November 20, 2019, at the conference hall of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Volodymyrska Street 55 ), a presentation of the Concept of the complex memorialization of Babyn Yar was held.

The welcoming speech was made by Joseph Sisels, the head of the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine.

The Head of the working group on the Development of the Concept of the Babyn Yar memorialization at the NASU Institute of History of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of NASU, Deputy Director of the NASU Institute of History of Ukraine Gennady Boryak reported on the organization of the working group's activity, composition and course of work.

Director-General of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve Babyn Yar Boris Glazunov reported on the work on the creation of the Memorial Museum in memory of victims of Babyn Yar in the building on the Illenka Street 44.

Deputy Chairman of the working group Vitaliy Nakhmanovych, a leading researcher at the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv, responsible secretary of the Public Committee to commemorate the victims of Babyn Yar reported on the overall structure and content of the Concept for the memorialization of Babyn Yar.

A member of the working group, Candidate of Science, Head of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage of Ukraine of the NASU Institute of History of Ukraine Serhiy Kot reported on the complex memorialization of Babyn Yar

The presentation of the project of the Ukrainian Holocaust Museum was presented by a member of the working group, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of History of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Ivan Patryliak. Presentation of the project of the Memorial Museum in memory of victims of Babyn Yar was given by a member of the working group, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Historical and Civic Education at the Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University Felix Levitas.
