Memorial evening dedicated to the memory of Holocaust victims.

January 26, 2015 in Kiev House of Actor (Yaroslaviv str., 7),were a memorial evening dedicated to the International Holocaust Victims Remembrance Day. This year is the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Soviet Army prisoners of concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau (Auschwitz), where were killed over a million European Jews.
On the evening of memory were Representatives of the Government of Ukraine, heads of ministries, heads of 20 diplomatic missions, deputies of Ukraine, religious and community leaders, journalists, employees of the National Historical Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar".
The organizer of Ukrainian action "Six million hearts," the president of the Jewish Forum of Ukraine – Monastyrskii Arkadii, who told about the tragedy of the Jewish people, opened the memorial evening.
The Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture of Ukraine - Vyacheslav Kirilenko, spoke before audience, he read an address from the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. Also, representatives of agencies read address from the head of the Parliament of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman, from the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.

With appeals from their states at Memorial evening were the Ambassador of USA in Ukraine - Jeffrey R.Paett, Germany - Dr. Christoph Weil, Counsellor of the Embassy of Israel Shmuel Polishchuk, Deputy Ambassador of Poland in Ukraine – Dariush Hurchynski. Also the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine - Thomas Frellesen addressed his speech to the audience.

At the event were representatives of the embassies of Latvia, Lithuania, Canada, France, Czech Republic, Romania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Norway.
In memory of the six million Jews , who were killed during the war, was read a memorial prayer by Chief Rabbi of combining traditional Judaism in Ukraine Reuven Stamova and the Rabbi of Kiev Jewish religious community Khabad Lubavitch Jonathan Markovich.
Memorial evening was finished with the literary and musical compositions performed by Laureate of international and national competitions- Margarita Levitska, soloists of the National Opera of Ukraine and Ukrainian famous string quartet "Cordes". There sounded lyrical works by composers Jacomo Puchini, Antonio Vivaldi, George Handel, Albinoni Tomaso, Sergei Rahmaninov and composition to the poetry of medieval Jewish poets.
