The National Historic-Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar" celebrated the Day of Unity of Ukraine on January 21 of the current year. In the administrative premise a photo-documentary exhibition "The Unity of Ukraine: We will Put Our Souls and Our Bodies For Our Freedom" was organized.
Solemn opening of the exhibition took place at 11.00. on this occasion, the Director-General of the Reserve Boris Glazunov told participators about the Act of Unification of Ukrainian Lands in 1919. In the speech of the Director General it was emphasized that celebration of the Day of Unity, honoring the founders of the Act of Unification, is not only a public need but also our moral duty - to preserve the light memory of countless victims that were given by the Ukrainian people on the altar of independence, unity, statehood of Ukraine .
The following thematic speeches were held: "Formation of Ukraine's Statehood in 1917-20" - the head of the archival department Andriy Tkachuk , "International significance of the Unity of Ukraine" - the head of the international department, Iryna Misak, "The struggle of the Ukrainian people for the Unity of Ukraine in the war with the Russian invaders of 2014-2017" - Senior Researcher of the Archival Department , PhD of political sciences, Mikhaylo Gutor.
