November 3 and 4, 2013 the Conference of the Association of Jews - former prisoners of ghettos and Nazi concentration camps held in Kyiv.
Association unites 42 organizations of former prisoners in small and large cities of Ukraine. According to Boris Zabarko the Doctor of Economic Sciences the Association's activities is aimed for preserving the memory of the victims of the Holocaust , publishing books with the testimony of those who survived into the ghettos and Nazi concentration camps , on social assistance for those old persons who can’t take part actively in the social movement .
The conference was attended by Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Reuven Dinel , German Ambassador to Ukraine Christoph Weil , Chairman of the Board of the Jewish Foundation of Ukraine Arkady Monastyrsky and others.
Arkady Monastyrsky spoke about the activities of the Foundation which is aimed to support the Jews - former prisoners of ghettos and Nazi concentration camps - memory custodians of the Holocaust ,in particular , the organization and holding events on the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance, erecting of the monuments at the locations of the massacres of Jews during World War II, support cultural- education and educational projects for youth and veterans.
He suggested Association of Jews - former prisoners of ghettos and concentration camps Ukraine several new joint projects which are aimed for preserving the historical truth of the Holocaust in the context of the European project "Culture of Memory in Ukraine ."
