3 October, 2014 upon an initiative of the Jewish Council of Ukraine, the Foundation "Remembrance Babi Yar" , National Historical and Memorial Preserve "Babi Yar" on the occasion of 73 anniversary of the tragedy at Babi Yar , was held funeral procession by "The Road of Death".
The participants marched from Motor Plant (intersection of Melnikova street and Dorogozhitskaia) to the memorial sign "Menorah", repeating the way of tens of thousands Jews in Kyiv at that tragic days on September 1941.
At the territory of National Historical Memorial Preserve "Babi Yar", beside the memorial sign "Menorah" was held a mourning rally, which was opened by the Acting president of the Jewish Council of Ukraine Belman Semen Grigorovich.
There speakers were:
-Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine Yakiv Dov Blaih,
-government vice-agent for ethnic policy H.V.Druzenko,
- Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Israel in Ukraine Ilia Bilotserkivskii,
- Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine Christoph Wail,
-member of the Councils of the European Council of Jewish Communities, the European and the World Jewish Congress, Head of the Vaads in Ukraine Joseph Zissels,
- Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine Oleksandr Duhovnii ,
-the representative of the public organization "Saved in Babi Yar" O.I.Sklyanskii,
-Chairman of the Association of Righteous of Babi Yar S.H.Yarova.
Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine Yakiv Dov Blaih read the Memorial Prayer.
The participants laid a lot of flowers at the memorial "Menorah" , honored the memoryof the victims of Babi Yar with a moment of silence.
