November 29, 2012 at the House of Scientists (Kyiv, Volodimir st., 45-A) the Vladimir (Zeev) Jabotinsky Memorial Evening held . Evening was organized by the International Society "Ukraine-Israel".
The evening was attended by P.P. Tolochko - Director of the Institute of Archaeology NAS of Ukraine, head of the Ukrainian Society of protection Historical and Cultural sight, I.M. Levitas - President of the Board of National Societies of Ukraine, Head of the „ Babyn Yar Memory” Fund, together with the Fund employees ; M.V.Zaseyev-Rudenko - Soviet film director, screenwriter, actor; B.I. Glazunov - Director of the National Historical Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar", along with employees of the Reserve; S.G. Yarova - Chairman of the Ukrainian public organization "Association of " Babyn Yar " righteous with the Association righteous activists and others.
Head of "Ukraine-Israel" Association Larisa Skorik told the audience that Jabotinsky (Ze’ev) Volodimir was one of the leaders and ideologues of the Zionist movement (the leader of the right- wing Zionism), novelist, essayist, poet and translator. He wrote in Russian and Hebrew.
Vladimir Jabotinsky was born in Ukraine at the end of the century, and many thoughts and reflections dedicated to the most important question: should the Jews have their own state, and should the Ukrainian, as well as all nations have their own state, to be public people?
The cornerstone of Ze’ev Jabotynsky heritage was a problem of national cultures and national identities. The development of relations between Ukraine and Israel, Ukrainian and Jewish peoples on the basis of Ze’ev Jabotynsky could become a kind of model solutions in the past is not the best of international relations.
Larissa Skorik reported audience that received the award Foundation. Ze’ev (Vladimir) Jabotinsky on Society "Ukraine - Israel" in 2012, for his outstanding contribution to international understanding, was I. IM Levitas - author and compiler of 34 books on the history of the Jewish people - the heroic and tragic pages of it, including - twelve books about the tragedy of Babi Yar. Author of more than 220 articles. Compiled common post-Soviet "Jewish Military Encyclopedia", "Memory Book Babi Yar," "Memory Book Kiev Jews who died in the Great Patriotic War," "fought in the same ranks."
Participants warmly welcomed by I. Levitas of the award, many recalled the history of mutual relations and Ukrainian Jews, thanked for dedication to commemorate the memory of Jews killed at Babi Yar and spodvyzhnytsku work for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries - Ukraine and Israel.
In conclusion, there heard a few songs performed by People's Artist of Ukraine, was awarded a diploma "For voice unique beauty" at the festival "World Music" in Fividzano (1999, Italy) - Alexander Vasilenko.
