75 years passed since massacre on 29-30 September 1941 in Babyn Yar in Kyiv.
During the Nazi occupation of Kyiv in 1941-1943 Babyn Yar was a place of mass executions of Jews and Roma, Soviet prisoners of war, underground fighters, partisans, hostages, members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, mentally ill and others.
Only for two days, 29 and 30 September 1941, Sonderkommando led by Standartenfuhrer SS Paul Blobel involving the 45-th and 303-th battalions of German police shot there almost 34 thousand Jews.
Mass shootings at Babyn Yar and in the nearby Syrets camp lasted until the liberation of Kyiv from occupation.
29 - 30 September 2016 the mournful activities were held in the National Historical Memorial Preserve "Babyn Yar" to commemorate the victims.
